Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 large egg, room temperature
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup pecans, chopped and toasted

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream the softened butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Whisk in the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just incorporated.
Gently stir in the toasted chopped pecans by hand using a silicone spatula.
Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure your butter is at room temperature for the best creaming results. For added depth, toast the pecans in a dry pan over medium heat for 3-5 minutes before chopping. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
